Entry Fees

The usual entry fee is £8.50 per story or poem. If three stories or poems are submitted on the same entry form then the fee will be £17.00, a £8.50 saving. If you qualify as a full-time student then the fee is £6 per story  or poem and if three stories or poems are submitted on the same entry form the fee will be £12.

This will apply to full time students. Evidence of qualification may be asked for by the competition organisers.

No. To qualify for 'three for the price of two' all three stories (or poems) must be submitted on the same entry form.

Number of Entries

Amending an Entry

You can submit as many stories or poems as you like but please remember to take advantage of the 'three for the price of two' by ensuring that three stories or poems are submitted using one entry form.

Yes. Three stories (or poems) can be submitted using the entry form that can be downloaded for postal entries.

No. Stories or poems cannot be amended after they have been received by the competition organisers.

Presentation

Judging

Every story or poem will be considered for inclusion in a shortlist by a panel of readers. Shortlisted stories and poems will be assessed by a judge appointed to each competition, who will decide on the stories or poems winning first, second and third prize.

No. All judging is done anonymously. There must be nothing in or attached to the story (or poem) that indicates who the author is.

Copyright

Yes. Your story or poem cannot be copied or used elsewhere by a third party without your express permission. It is part of the terms of entry however that short-listed and winning entries will be published as an anthology available from our book store.  or Amazon. 

Any paper copies of stories (or poems) will be shredded and any electronic files will be deleted.

Data Protection

The personal details entered will only be used for the purpose of the competition and will not be disclosed to a third party.

Payments made by credit or debit card will be processed using an internet marketing system that has a proven track record of ensuring the security of the payee's card details. Once payment has been made these details will not be retained.
